The Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Destination Management OR 2 years of experience in Destination Management + any college degree
- Current employment in the hospitality industry
- Responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of Destination Management programs
Step 1 - Complete the Application Form
Complete the DMCP application form. Form components include:
- Experience and Management Information
- Resume Upload required*
- DMC Competencies (you must select 28 of 37 to qualify)
- Professional Contributions, Education, Involvement (a minimum of 5 check boxes is required from the following options)
- Highest form of education
- Internship
- Continuing education hours
- Proof upload required* (Download Professional Development Documentation Form)
- Industry certifications earned
- ADMEI conference attendance
- Author (up to two)
- Article upload required*
- Lecturer (up to two)
- Speaker / Panelist (up to two)
- Association memberships and volunteer service
- Other documents required
- (2) Recommendation letters*
- one from client
- one industry professional other than supervisor
- Completed and signed Supervisor Approval Form*
- (2) Recommendation letters*

- Documents should be in PDF format
- Nomenclature - Document name followed by last name (i.e. Resume - Smith)
Completed applications are due no later than 6 weeks prior to the exam.  Visit the Exam Schedule for upcoming exam deadlines.

Step 2 - Pay the Enrollment Fee
Once you have completed the application, you will be invited to pay the enrollment fee:
- $200 - Members
- $300 - Non-members
Completed Application
A completed application includes the 1) completed DMCP application form, 2) the required uploaded documentation, and 3) the payment.  ADMEI will review completed applications and determine if the applicant has been approved to be a candidate.
Two Year Exam Window
Once you are approved, you will be invited to register for an upcoming exam. An approved candidate has up to two years to take the exam. Candidates will be invited to register for upcoming exams during that period.
